Explained
What is conversion rate optimization?
Conversion rate optimization is a method for improving a website by evidence instead of opinion. A conversion is any action that matters to the business, such as a purchase, a form submission or a phone call. The conversion rate is the number of conversions divided by the number of visitors.
A site that turns 2 in every 100 visitors into leads, and is improved to 3 in every 100, gets 50 percent more leads from the same traffic and the same advertising budget.

Testing
What do we test?
- Headlines and offers. Whether the page says clearly what the visitor gets.
- Calls to action. Wording, position and number of buttons.
- Forms. Number of fields, order, error messages and labels.
- Proof. Reviews, results, guarantees and where they appear.
- Page speed. Slow pages lose visitors before anything else matters.
- Checkout. Steps, payment options, delivery costs and guest checkout.
- Mobile layout. Most visits are on phones, and many pages are still designed for desktop.

Traffic
How much traffic does A/B testing need?
An A/B test needs enough conversions in each version to tell a real difference from chance. A page with a few hundred conversions a month can be tested reliably. A page with a handful cannot.
For sites below that level we do not run tests that cannot reach a conclusion. We fix the problems the research shows, such as broken forms, slow pages and unclear offers, and measure leads before and after.
Process
How it works
- Measure We make sure tracking is complete and accurate.
- Research We find where and why visitors drop out.
- Prioritize We rank the possible changes by expected effect and effort.
- Test or fix We run A/B tests where traffic allows, and make direct fixes where it does not.
- Implement and report Winners become permanent, and you see the effect on leads or revenue.

Pricing
How much does CRO cost?
This service is quoted after a free audit, because the price depends on the scope of work. The price depends on the amount of traffic, the number of pages or funnels in scope and whether analytics needs rebuilding first.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good conversion rate?
It depends on the industry, the traffic source and what counts as a conversion, so comparisons between businesses mislead. The useful comparison is your own rate before and after a change.
How is CRO different from SEO and PPC?
SEO and PPC bring visitors to a website. CRO increases the share of those visitors who become leads or customers. Improving conversion makes every other channel more profitable.
Do I need CRO if my site is new?
A new site needs accurate tracking from the first day and sound page design. Testing begins once there is enough traffic to measure.
How long does an A/B test take?
Until each version has enough conversions for a reliable result, and at least one full week so that weekday and weekend behavior are both included. For most sites that means two to six weeks.
Will testing harm my SEO?
Not when it is set up correctly. Google supports A/B testing as long as the test does not show search engines different content from visitors and does not run longer than needed.
