Web design and development services
Web design and development is the planning, design and building of a website or online store. Adwortise builds on WordPress, Shopify and WooCommerce, with search visibility, page speed and accessibility treated as part of the build and not as work to be done afterwards.

Explained
What do web design and development services include?
Web design decides how a site looks and how visitors move through it. Web development turns that design into working pages and connects them to the systems behind them, such as a content management system, a payment gateway or a CRM.
A site built for marketing has a third requirement: search engines and AI systems must be able to read it. That is decided by how the site is built, so we plan structure, markup and speed before any design is approved.
- Discovery and sitemap
- What the site must achieve, who it is for, and the list of pages and how they connect.
- User experience
- Wireframes that set out the content and actions on each page type before visual design.
- Visual design
- Layouts that follow your brand, designed for phones first and desktop second.
- Development
- Clean, semantic HTML and a theme your team can edit without a developer.
- Content
- Existing content moved across, and new copy written where pages are missing.
- SEO setup
- Titles, headings, structured data, sitemap and redirects from every old URL.
- Speed
- Compressed images, minimal scripts and caching, measured against Core Web Vitals.
- Accessibility
- Readable contrast, keyboard navigation, labelled forms and text alternatives for images.
- Tracking
- Google Analytics, Tag Manager and conversion events in place at launch.
- Launch and care
- Testing, launch, and maintenance for updates, backups and security.

Search visibility
How do we build websites that rank?
Most ranking problems on new websites come from how they were built. We avoid them at the start.
- One clear structure. Services, locations and articles each sit in their own section, so search engines can see how pages relate.
- Semantic HTML. One h1 per page, headings in order, and real lists, tables and links instead of styled boxes.
- Content in the page source. Text is delivered in the HTML and does not depend on scripts to appear.
- Structured data. Schema generated from the page content, so it always matches what visitors see.
- Redirects. In a redesign, every old URL is mapped to its new one before launch, so existing rankings and links carry over.

Speed
How fast should a website be?
Google measures real-world speed with three Core Web Vitals. A page passes when most visits meet the thresholds below.
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
- How long the main content takes to appear. Good is 2.5 seconds or less.
- Interaction to Next Paint (INP)
- How quickly the page responds to a tap or click. Good is 200 milliseconds or less.
- Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)
- How much the layout moves while loading. Good is 0.1 or less.
We design to these limits: few fonts, compressed images in modern formats, and no script that is not needed.

Pricing
How much does a website cost?
This service is quoted after a free audit, because the price depends on the scope of work. The main factors are the number of page templates, whether the site sells online, the amount of content to write or move, and any custom features. You receive a fixed quote and a dated schedule before work starts.
Frequently asked questions
Which platform is best for my website?
WordPress suits service businesses and sites with a lot of content. Shopify suits stores that want hosting, payments and security handled for them. WooCommerce suits stores that need full control over content and structure. We recommend one after discovery.
Will I be able to edit the website myself?
Yes. Pages are built with editable blocks or sections, and we train your team at handover. Changes to templates or features still need a developer.
Will a redesign hurt my rankings?
It can if URLs change without redirects or if content is removed. We map every old URL to its new one, keep the pages that bring traffic and check indexing after launch.
Do you provide hosting?
Shopify includes hosting. For WordPress and WooCommerce we recommend a host suited to the size of the site and set it up for you, with the account in your name.
How long does a website take to build?
It depends on the number of page templates and how quickly content and feedback arrive. You receive a dated schedule with the quote.
