Shopify SEO services
Shopify SEO is search engine optimization for stores built on Shopify. The platform handles some of the technical work itself and fixes other things in place, so the method differs from SEO on other platforms. Adwortise optimizes collections, products and content within those rules.

Explained
What is Shopify SEO?
Shopify SEO is the work of making a Shopify store rank in unpaid search results for the products it sells. The principles are the same as any ecommerce SEO. The practice differs because Shopify controls the URL structure, generates the sitemap and limits some server-level changes.

Platform rules
What does Shopify fix in place, and what can be changed?
| Area | How Shopify handles it | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| URL structure | Fixed folders: /products/, /collections/, /pages/, /blogs/ | Choose clean handles and keep them stable |
| Duplicate product URLs | A product is reachable at /products/name and at /collections/x/products/name | Make internal links point to the canonical /products/ URL |
| Sitemap | Generated automatically at /sitemap.xml | Submit it and check what Google indexes |
| robots.txt | Default rules, editable through the robots.txt.liquid template | Adjust rules for filters and internal search where needed |
| Canonical tags | Added by the theme | Check that filtered and paginated pages point to the right URL |
| Structured data | Depends on the theme | Add complete Product, Offer, Review and Breadcrumb schema |
| Speed | Fast hosting and CDN included | Remove unused apps and scripts, compress images |

Frequently asked questions
Is Shopify good for SEO?
Yes. Shopify provides fast hosting, automatic sitemaps, canonical tags and mobile-ready themes. Its limits are a fixed URL structure and restricted server access, which rarely prevent a store from ranking.
Can I change the /collections/ and /products/ in Shopify URLs?
No. Those folders are fixed. Only the handle at the end of the URL can be edited.
Do Shopify apps hurt SEO?
They can. Many apps load scripts on every page, which slows the store. We review which apps are in use and remove the code left behind by uninstalled ones.
Will I lose rankings if I move to Shopify?
Not if the migration is planned. Every old URL needs a redirect to its new Shopify URL, and titles, content and structured data need to carry over.
